SAN ANGELO, TX — TLCA failed to extend their two game winning streak in a blowout loss to the Colorado High Wolves that ended 48-7.
Eagles Head Coach Brent Rider believes his team needs to "block better and execute better" to get their offense going next week because of how stagnant it was against Colorado High.
Colorado High's Bubba Williams started off the game with an electrifying kick off return for a touchdown to put the Wolves up 7-0.
The Eagles bounced back with a Kentrell Williams rushing touchdown that evened the score at 7-7.
Markis Monroe quickly answered with a rushing touchdown of his own on putting the Wolves up 14-7 on the Eagles.
On the very next possession TLCA's Kaiden Kirkland was intercepted by the Wolves Markis Monroe who bobbed and weaved his way to the Eagles 12 yard line.
The Wolves capitalized on the turnover with a pitch to Erick Hernandez who raced his way to the end zone putting Colorado High up 21-7.
After failing to get anything going on offense the Eagles were forced to punt, giving the ball back to the Wolves.
On the next drive Markis Monroe connected with Reid Harris on a beautifully executed 64 yard touchdown pass putting the Wolves up 28-7 on the Eagles.
The Eagles were forced to punt once again and Markis Monroe followed with another rushing touchdown putting the Eagles up 35-7 after the made extra point.
Markis Monroe's big night continued as he connected with his lanky receiver Tracy Smith for two more touchdowns putting the Wolves up 48-7.
There were not too many highlights for the Eagles on the night as the Wolves scored 41 unanswered points after the only TLCA touchdown.
Coach Brent Rider stated that many problems on the night for his Eagles stemmed from Colorado High's defense saying "Colorado City has a good defense. They gave us some trouble."
He also credited Colorado High's Coach Gainey for his aerial assault and the offensive plan the Wolves implemented throughout the game.
TLCA (2-2) will face the Winters Blizzards (1-3) in a home game at Lake View Stadium.
