TAYLOR COUNTY, TX-- A 68-year-old man was indicted in Taylor County this month on suspicion of inappropriately touching a young girl, according to KTXS in Abilene.
Lupe Marez, of Merkel, was charged for two incidents that happened more than a year apart with the same victim. The first incident in question happened in October of 2000, while the second incident happened in November 2001, according to court documents.
The victim was 11 years old at the time of the first incident.
A member of the Taylor County Sheriff Office overheard a conversation between Marez and the victim, according to KTXS. The defendant said "I never did anything really bad...other than just touch. I touched you and I shouldn't have."
Marez was transported to Taylor County Jail, but was released after posting his $10,000 bond.
