SAN ANGELO, TX -- A fugitive who was wanted for violating the terms of his bond after a Grand Jury Indictment for his role in the brutal stabbing of a 32-year-old San Angelo man on March 5, 2017 has been taken into custody.
Around 6:00 p.m. yesterday evening, San Angelo Police received information that 32-year-old Michael Lorenzo Sanchez was at Tire World, 4258 Sherwood Way. Police responded and Sanchez was observed walking on the property. An Officer called out to Sanchez and ordered him to stop; however, Sanchez disregarded the command and fled on foot. During the brief foot pursuit, Sanchez was observed throwing a small baggy from his pocket.
Shortly after the pursuit began, Sanchez was taken into custody without further incident. Officers located the discarded baggy, which contained suspected narcotics, and field-tested the contents. The test showed positive for the presence of methamphetamine that weighed approximately 14.9 grams with packaging. During a search of Sanchez incident to his arrest, Officers located and seized $732.00 in U.S. currency.
In addition to his warrant arrest, Sanchez was charged with Manufacture Delivery of Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 and Evading Arrest Detention with Previous Conviction.
