SAN ANGELO, TX -- San Angelo Emergency Management Coordinator Steve Mild issued the following statement: "At this time, Harvey is neither headed our way, nor is it strongly predicted to come our way. When hurricanes form, NOAA and the hurricane prediction center always show multiples of paths the storm could take given different scenarios. The San Angelo path is one of the remote possibilities that could happen out of about 15 listed."
In addition, Texas Governor Greg Abbott requested President Trump for a disaster declaration Friday.
SAN ANGELO, TX -- According to the National Weather Service office in San Angelo, only one track out of 15 to 20 projected paths of Hurricane Harvey would bring the storm here.
San Angelo Emergency Management Coordinator Steve Mild, “the statement that the hurricane might come here is misleading. When there are 15 to 20 different tracks, we need to keep staff apprised.”
Most tracks keep Harvey along the Texas Gulf Coast and eventually tracking east.
