SAN ANGELO, TX -- On Wednesday, 21 people were arrested in Tom Green County. Some of the more serious charges include a sexual assault of a child and an assault of a public servant.
Christopher Thomas Brooks, 21, was indicted by a Texas Grand Jury after, "intentionally and knowingly," having sexual intercourse with a child younger than 17 on Dec. 9, 2016, according to his indictment.
He was arrested and booked into the Tom Green County Jail just after 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday with a $20,000 bond.
Chris Salazar Tagel, 40, was arrested for resisting arrest and assaulting a public servant on Jan. 10, 2017.
The complaint reads that Tagel resisted arrest by a Tom Green County Sheriff's deputy.
The deputy attempted to restrain Tagel, however, this caused Tagel to fall on top of him causing discomfort to the deputies left wrist. The defendant continued to resist and, "actively began kicking the deputy on upper right thigh with his foot," according to the complaint.
Tagel was booked into the jail that same day but was later released on a $10,000 bond on Jan. 30.
Since this offense, Tagel has been arrested four additional times on multiple charges to include possession delivery of drug paraphernalia, disorderly conduct-abusive language, two resisting arrest charges, and an additional charge for assaulting a public servant on May 25, 2017, according to jail records.
He has released again on June 10, 2017, for the second assault charge after posting a $10,000 bond.
Tagel's most recent visit to the jail on Wednesday was for a failure to appear charge and two counts of failing to pay court fees. His assaulting a public servant, and resisting arrest charge was also listed in the booking report.
On Wednesday, 11 arrests were made on new complaints, eight for warrants, and two for both complaints and warrants.
