SAN ANGELO, TX — On August 3, 2017, Investigators with the San Angelo Police Department filed a Complaint with the District Attorney’s Office stating probable cause to charge Nathaniel D. Hibben, 24, of San Angelo, with Possession with Intent to Promote Child Pornography. Hibben has been incarcerated at the Tom Green County Jail since April 21, 2017 on an unrelated charge.
The Complaint stemmed from a string of ongoing storage unit burglary investigations that began in 2016. On October 20, 2016, San Angelo Police executed a Search Warrant at a residence in the 400 block of N. Jefferson Street. Hibben, who was located inside, was detained during the search where Investigators located and seized suspected stolen property, including a laptop computer.
Through follow up investigation, Detectives learned Hibben transferred videos depicting children under the age of 18 years of age engaged in sexual conduct to his personal Dropbox account, which Hibben accessed on the laptop computer. The electronic device was processed at the Regional Computer Forensic Laboratory in Dallas, Texas, in March of this year.
Detective James Russel is the lead Investigator on this case. Investigators with the Department of Homeland Security assisted with the investigation.
