Shannon Opens Registration for the 18th Annual Sporting Clay Shoot

SAN ANGELO, TX – Shannon Medical Center has officially opened  its registration for the 18th Annual Shannon Sporting Clay Shoot on July 22 at the San Angelo Claybird Association.

The event is the largest charity shoot in Texas attracting more than 500 shooters and 1,500 spectators each year, a Shannon press release stated. The registration fee is $150 per shooter.

The shoot features two shooting rotations. The first rotation is Saturday, July 22 at 8:30 am and the second begins Saturday at noon.

Shooters will get to shoot one of three courses during a rotation with 100 targets per course. More than 35 guns will be given away by random draw during the exciting live auction which rounds out the event.

Each year, proceeds of the Clay Shoot benefit multiple departments at Shannon. The programs benefiting from the 2017 event include AirMed1-regional outreach, Diabetes Management Outreach, Oncology Angel Fund, Palliative Care, Outpatient Dialysis programs, Patient Benevolence, Nurse Education, and Shannon Care Coordination.

“Shannon is proud to celebrate 18 years of putting on a locally-produced and sponsored shoot,” sporting clay shoot coordinator Connie Whitman said. “The programs benefiting from the shoot help patients undergoing treatment and their families, as well as provide additional education and equipment for those providing care. The incredible support from sponsors and shooters throughout our region keeps this event growing each year and helps us make a difference for patients in the Concho Valley.”

Individuals may register online at www.shannonhealth.com or by calling 325-657-8343.
