After Stabbing a Man During a Fit of Road Rage, Man Arrested Again

SAN ANGELO, TEXAS -- On Monday, 38 people were arrested in Tom Green County. One of the more serious charges included an Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon from a road rage incident.

Maverick Aron Jennings, 27, pleaded guilty to charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after he assaulted and cut a male victim with a knife on Aug. 8, 2016 following a traffic accident.

Notably, Jennings was not the driver of the vehicle involved in the car accident, but rather the passenger. As the male driver of the second vehicle began asking for insurance papers from the driver of the vehicle Jennings was traveling in, court documents state that Jennings became noticeably rowdy and tried to start a fight with the assault victim.

A fight broke out after the defendant shoved the victim multiple times. The victim landed a punch on Jennings face knocking him to the ground, and then kicked Jennings in the face.

As the driver of the truck witnessed the fight begin, he proceeded to exit his vehicle to begin fighting the victim with Jennings. Shortly thereafter, Jennings got off the ground, walked away, and then turned to face the victim.

Jennings then asked the victim, "do you want to die?" Court documents note that the victim saw Jennings holding a knife while asking his question. Jennings thrusted the weapon at the victims left side and then pulled the knife back, leaving a cut on the left side of of the victims stomach.

Both Jennings and the driver got back into the truck and drove away from the scene leaving the victim with a busted lip, and a cut almost six inches long, Jennings complaint stated.

Jennings was sentenced to four years probation and ordered to pay a fine of $1,000 after taking the plea deal in Nov. of 2016. Their was a motion to revoke probation submitted to the court on May 18, 2017. Following this, the order for Jennings arrest was signed by the 119th Judicial District Judge Ben Woodward on May 22.

He was booked into the Tom Green County Jail just before 5 p.m. on Monday with a $12,500 bond. Jennings is scheduled for a post indictment hearing tomorrow at 2 p.m. at the Tom Green County Court House.

Wouldn't it be cool if one of these Judges tried something unheard of...... Something like sentencing this idiot to about 30 years confinement to safeguard that the rest of the public can feel safe with him no longer in our society..........
