UPDATE: May 10, 2017 9:17 a.m.

Yesterday morning a two-vehicle crash occurred on the east-bound side of IH-20. In a preliminary synopsis from Sergeant Fred B. Biddle III with the Texas Department of Public Safety, a truck tractor/semi-trailer (TTST) was switching lanes from right to left but the driver did not see a white SUV driving next to it. Subsequently, the TTST struck the SUV sending it into the center median. The SUV came back onto the roadway and went into a right side skid and then back into the center median where it rolled over.

Sgt. Biddle added that there were a total of 6 injured in the SUV. An infant, a toddler, and a female were all ejected from the vehicle. Another female remained trapped in the vehicle until law enforcement and medics were able to reach her. Two other males, previously identified as the father and grandfather of the family, exited the SUV with minor injuries.

The driver of the truck sustained no injuries. It is currently unknown if there were others in the truck.

This is an ongoing investigation. The above information is preliminary information and can change based on possible witness information and investigators findings.
