Suspect Arrested After Stabbing Incident at River Pointe Apartments

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — A San Angelo teen was arrested in connection with a stabbing that occurred last night at the River Pointe Apartments located in the 1000 block of Benedict Road.

San Angelo police were dispatched to Shannon Hospital just before 10:00 p.m. for a report of a stabbing victim.  Officers arrived and located a 22-year-old San Angelo man suffering from multiple stab wounds.  The man was reportedly dropped off at the ER by private vehicle.

Officers located the crime scene at the River Pointe Apartments and the Department’s Criminal Investigations Division and Crime Scene Investigations Unit responded.  Further investigation revealed the victim was assaulted following an altercation with another occupant.     

The suspect, 17-year-old Stvaugn McPherson, left the scene after the assault but was later located by Police at a residence in the 200 block of W. 9th Street.

McPherson was taken into custody without incident and transported to Police Headquarters for questioning.  Following his interview, McPherson was transported to the Tom Green County Jail where he was booked for Aggravated Assault with Deadly Weapon.

The victim is reported to be in stable condition.  San Angelo police stated this is an active investigation and more details may come later.
