Concho Valley ER, a locally-owned free-standing medical emergency room held their official grand opening Saturday. A small crowd gathered to try their luck at winning Aaron Watson tickets or a trip to Schlitterbahn.
The center served barbecue sandwiches, snow cones, and gave away 300 T-shirts.
“We want to educate the public on what we are,” said Concho Valley ER spokeswoman Sarah Denson. “We’re not urgent care, we’re not a clinic. We are a free-standing emergency room.”
Concho Valley ER has their own x-ray and CT scan capabilities on site. “We can do anything a traditional emergency room can do,” Denson said.

The center has been open since Feb. 23. Earlier this week, Concho Valley ER held the traditional chamber of commerce ribbon-cutting.
