SAN ANGELO, TX - San Angelo Police arrested a young intoxicated driver with an expired license and no insurance this morning, just before 10 a.m., after he hit a Dodge Durango carrying a family of five on Howard and Chapman Streets.

Officer Todd Dornhecker said the driver of the black Durango was traveling southbound with his wife and three children on Howard when the driver of a red car crossed over the center stripe, causing a head on collision.
Luckily, there were no major injuries, but medics did check on the welfare of the three children in the Durango. According to the initial call, one of the children suffered a minor head injury.

As for the driver of the red vehicle, whom Dornhecker described as a young Hispanic male, he wasn't injured, but he will be heading to the Tom Green County Jail.

"The driver of the red car was arrested for driving while intoxicated," he noted.

At this time, the case is still under investigation and citations will be forthcoming, including one for an expired driver's license, no insurance, and failing to maintain a single lane.
