ABILENE, TX - Abilene Police arrested a 40-year-old Abilene woman on March 30, 2017 for her part in stealing thousands of dollars in miscellaneous items from storage shed break-ins and home and vehicle burglaries.
According to Abilene Police, officials received information on a stolen laptop that eventually led police to Grant's residence in the 1200 block of Crockett St. in south Abilene.
"A search warrant was eventually served on the the home, which revealed over $5,000 in various items in stolen merchandise affecting dozens of citizens," said Abilene Police. "Items included various hunting equipment, toys, computer items, other priceless memorabilia, and priceless personal documents."
Officials even discovered a marriage certificate and divorce certificate from the 1800s, U.S. pilot records from World War II, books signed by a famous author, and at least one firearm among the items stolen by Grant.
APD officials noted, "Items have been traced to several storage shed break-ins in Abilene, Merkel, and Clyde. So far, Grant is the only person charged in connection with the stolen items, but more arrests are pending the investigation."
Currently, Grant is being charged with State Jail Felony Theft Enhanced, 3rd Degree Felony Fraudulent Possession of Identification, 3rd Degree Felony Theft of Property (Enhanced), State Jail Felony Possession of Methamphetamine.
