Police Identify Possible Victim But No Remains Found

Abilene, TX – After an extensive 11-hour search, police were unable to locate any human remains during their search at the home located at 3900 Old Anson Rd. Authorities have released the name of the victim of whom they had initially suspected as being buried in the property. Clay Rodman, 32, has been missing since May 1, 2013 and a credible tip had led them to investigate the property.

According to a local news source, Rodman’s parents have been very active in the investigation and state they had known something was wrong after their son stopped calling. Abilene PD confirmed to the news source that Rodman had been living in Abilene for approximately three months before he disappeared.  

He was last seen near the Salvation Army in Abilene and a reward of $21,000 is still being offered by the family for any information that leads them to their son, said KTXS.

Police became involved in the case in July of 2013 after Rodman’s parents expressed concern for his welfare.

In an interview, Rodman’s father, Allin Rodman, stated he is still hopeful about finding his son.

“He was our oldest child, very smart, got an English degree from Texas A&M, was an avid reader, very well read,” Rodman said.

He stated that his son had gotten out of rehab and had fallen in with a bad crowd before his disappearance. The day of the search was a very emotional day for the family as they search for closure after this long road of four years.

“That may sound strange, but when you've gone 47 months, essentially four years, we just want to give Clay a burial he would have wanted and just kind of get closure and just know where he is,” Rodman said.
