SAN ANGELO, TX - A shooting that was a result of an argument and led to the arrest of a 29-year-old San Angelo man this Saturday had San Angelo Police scrambling in various directions to determine what took place.
Public Information Officer Tracy Gonzalez said, just after 5:00 p.m., police were dispatched to the area of 19th and Main Streets for the report of shots fired.
"Officers converged on the area and located a 28-year-old San Angelo man who was the intended victim along with several witnesses," Gonzalez said. "The Department’s Criminal Investigations Division also responded to the scene."
She noted that through a lengthy investigation, it was determined Christopher A. Morua, 29, of San Angelo, shot a firearm from a silver 1989 Buick towards the victim’s black 2013 Chevrolet Impala while the victim was driving near 7th and Main.
"The shooting allegedly happened as a result of a verbal argument between the pair," said Gonzalez. "The victim sped through neighboring streets to avoid being shot. No one was injured during the incident. The victim and Morua are acquaintances."
Police located Morua at a residence in the 1700 block of Main Street. He was taken into custody without incident. Following an interview, Morua was charged with Aggravated Assault with Deadly Weapon and transported to the Tom Green County Jail.
