Former Boys & Girls Club Director Ordered to Pay $87,000 In Restitution

 

MIDLAND, TX – Wednesday morning was not good for former Boys and Girls Club Director Luther Dobbins, who was ordered to pay back $86,922.00 in restitution after embezzling money from the organization. Dobbins pleaded guilty after it was discovered he had stolen thousands of dollars from the Midland non-profit between August 2010 and July 2011.

According to a local news source, Dobbins was indicted after a grand jury found that he had embezzled, stole, obtained by fraud, [wrongfully used] and intentionally misapplied" at the very least $5,000 while serving as a director.

Dobbins has been sentenced to a 5 years’ probation, fined $100.00 and forced to pay back the total restitution amount. He was also charged with financial mismanagement of cash transactions.
