First Week of March Arrests Include Retailer Thieves and Repeat Offenders

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – Since this past weekend, local law enforcement arrested and booked 135 people into the Tom Green County Jail for a variety of offenses. Once more, a few people decided to hit up a few retailers, including Walmart, Lowe’s Grocery Store and Market Street, and got themselves into a bit of trouble in the process. Other repeat offenders went to jail for drugs and firearms.

On Saturday, San Angelo Police arrested Esteban Luna Chavez, 31, for Theft of Property >= $100<$750 and several outstanding warrants. Just before noon on that day, officers dispatched to the Walmart on W. 29th St. for the report of a shoplifter in custody.

This is Chavez’s first arrest in Tom Green County. His four outstanding warrants were out of Ector County, and his bonds total $2,500. He also has $968 in outstanding fines/court costs.

In another case that didn’t include shoplifting, but rather a repeat offender, Frank Anthony Fay, Jr. went to the TGCJ for Manufacture Delivery of a Controlled Substance PG 1>=4G<200G and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by Felon. Last Friday, area law enforcement officials executed a search warrant for Fay at a residence in the 600 block of W. 16th St.

This is Fay’s 27th arrest in TGC. His previous crimes include criminal trespass, assault causes bodily injury, drug possession, aggravated robbery, evading arrest and disorderly conduct. His bonds for these two new crimes total $45,000.

In another retailer incident, San Angelo Police arrested 80-year-old Joann Hoffman Mika for Theft of Property >=$100<$750 on Friday at around 4:30 p.m. after SAPD officers dispatched to Market Street on Sunset Drive for the report of a theft.

This is Mika’s first arrest in TGC. Her bond is set at $500.

Also on Friday, at around 3 p.m., SAPD officers arrested Christopher Ray Webb, 24, for Criminal Trespass and Theft Class C. According to SAPD, Webb was observed stealing Little Debbie snacks from Lowe’s Grocery store on N. Bryant. At the same time, Victoria Alexandria Newman, 21, was arrested for an outstanding warrant during the theft investigation.

This is Webb’s 17th arrest in Tom Green County. His previous crimes include theft of property, criminal trespass and drug possession. Webb was released from the TGCJ on March 6 at 4:19 p.m. on bonds that totaled $924.

On Saturday, Walmart on W. 29th St. got hit again. Vicki Sue Wilkins, 55, was arrested for this Criminal Trespass and Possession/Delivery of Drug Paraphernalia after SAPD dispatched to the store for the report of theft.

Wilkins also has a long history in TGC with 33 arrests. Her crimes include drugs, theft, unauthorized use of a vehicle, parole violation, public intoxication and more. For these offenses, and an outstanding warrant, Wilkins’ bonds total $2,142 with $321 in fine/court costs.

In another Walmart incident on Sherwood Way Wednesday, SAPD officers arrested Brandon Marquies Walker, 22, for Theft of Property<$2,500 2/More Prev. Conv. At around 12:40 p.m., Police dispatched to the store for the report of a theft. Walker stole two 30-packs of beer, two BB guns, and BB ammo.

This is Walker’s 7th arrest in TGC, and he too has a history of theft, burglary, assault of a public servant, and minor in possession of alcohol. His bond is set at $7,500.

Overall, out of the 135 arrests, 59 people went to jail for new crimes, 57 for outstanding warrants, and 19 for both.
