DPS Trooper Finds $344,000 Worth of Heroin During Traffic Stop

AMARILLO, TX – DPS Trooper seized $344,000 worth of heroin in a routine traffic stop Tuesday night. After stopping a 2003 Toyota Camry traveling east on IH-40, the officer discovered the tape wrapped packages hidden in the gas tank.

Two women, Maria Gembe, 33, and Lucia Ceballos, 35, were arrested, transported and booked into the Carson County Jail. The women were traveling to Kansas City from Avondale, Arizona.
