San Angelo Rodeo to Host First Official ASU Day

 

SAN ANGELO, TX- San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo activities will have an Angelo State University component on Saturday, Feb. 4, for the first official ASU Day at the Rodeo.

Activities will begin with the annual Rodeo Parade at 10 a.m., and several university offices and student organizations will be participating, along with ASU President Brian J. May.

The midway area of the San Angelo Fairgrounds will be decorated with ASU flags, and  student RAMbassadors will greet everyone who attends the matinee rodeo performance at noon.  University faculty and staff will be in attendance, along with ASU’s live Rambouillet ram mascot, Dominic. The mascot will be available on the arena floor for photos after the rodeo performance.

Then, during the 7:30 p.m. rodeo performance, student-athletes and members of ASU’s Student Government Association, ROTC Detachment 847 and other student organizations will greet attendees and pass out free souvenir ASU footballs for a few lucky fans.

All ASU students, faculty and staff can gain free admission to the fairgrounds midway on Feb. 4 by wearing their ASU gear and showing their campus ID cards. ASU will also provide Ram Tram shuttle service for students from the ASU campus to the fairgrounds and back from 6-11 p.m.
