San Angelo Firefighters Knock Down Fire on 14th Street

SAN ANGELO, TX — At approximately 8 p.m., San Angelo firefighters responded to a structure fire in the 700 block of W. 14^th Street. By the time we arrived, the smoke had cleared.

Firefighters are still inside the house checking for hot spots and what appears to be one of the occupants of the house is outside the home, clearly shaken.

We observed no injuries and will report more once additional information becomes available.

Update 11:30 p.m.

Battalion Commander Fred Barnett said flames were showing when the firefighters first arrived. The flames were seen through the windows of the home, he said.

A woman and her boyfriend are the residents here, along with three dogs. “All the dogs were rescued unharmed,” Barnett said.

Barnett said the fire was contained inside one bedroom only.

As firefighters were mopping up, the fire marshal began conducting an investigation into the cause of the fire.

The residents were aided by Red Cross and accommodations were found for them.
