Odessa Man Melted Meth in Cup of Hot Chocolate to Destroy Evidence

ODESSA, TX – An Odessa man attempted to destroy his methamphetamine in a cup of hot chocolate after driving on the wrong side of the road this past Tuesday.

A local Odessa news station reported that Odessa police were prompted to pull over a silver SUV after it was seen traveling on the wrong side of the road in the 800 block of Avenue H. During the traffic stop, police officers noticed a cup of hot chocolate in the center console with a plastic bag floating on the top. After further testing, the contents of the plastic bag tested positive for methamphetamine.

The driver, William Guinan, 51, told officers the meth was his and that he tried to destroy the drugs by placing them in the cup of hot chocolate.

Guinan was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine and tampering with physical evidence.
