Ranger Man on Trial for Murder Claims Self-Defense

EASTLAND, TX-  Donald Davis, a 53-year-old Ranger man on trial for murder, claims he killed his neighbor in self-defense.

This past Tuesday, Jan. 10, Davis was on trial in Eastland County for killing Bobby Blair.

KTXS explained, “Blair was shot to death in an alley outside his ex-girlfriend’s home and Davis’ in June 2016. The two lived on the 1300 block of Young St. in Eastland County.”

Ranger Police Officer Charles Parker, one of the key witnesses in the trial, said he was aware Davis had trouble with Blair.

“In one incident, Davis reported his tires stolen and claimed Blair took them. In another report, Davis said he wanted to charge him for criminal trespassing,” KTXS said.

During the trial, the prosecution presented Parker’s dash camera footage from the same night.

“Davis was shown signaling an ambulance to where Blair’s body was located,” KTXS reported. “The jury also heard the conversation between Davis and Parker. In the video, Davis can be heard telling Parker that his gun was in the house.”

Also, during the trial, the medical examiner took the stand. He explained the details of the autopsy performed on Blair’s body. The examiner explained that Blair died from multiple gunshot wounds to the abdomen and chest. A toxicology exam was also performed, which found methamphetamine in Blair’s blood and urine.

The trial is continuing through today.
