San Angelo Community Medical Center Experiences Power Outage

 

SAN ANGELO, TX - Today, San Angelo Community Medical Center experienced a power outage, but according to staff, the hospital is no functioning with full power.

"At the time of the outage, the hospital immediately activated its emergency contingency plan, including the use of generators to power facility," said Sheryl Pfluger, director of Marketing & Business Development. "Elective surgeries and procedures that were canceled due to the outage will be rescheduled for later this week."

Jeremy Riney, CEO of SACMC, said, “The safety of our patients, physicians and employees is our first priority. Our hospital regularly plans for and conducts exercises to respond to unexpected scenarios, including power outages. We thank our staff for their fast response and dedication to their patients.”
