San Angelo Police Department Introduces 'Buckle Down & Stay Strapped In'

 

SAN ANGELO, TX- This afternoon, the San Angelo Police Department (SAPD) will be hosting an event that will announce a public safety campaign called “Buckle Down & Stay Strapped In.”

This campaign is an initiative aimed at saving lives and reducing serious bodily injury within the San Angelo community.

On Monday, at 2 p.m., at Police Headquarters, 401 E. Beauregard, Police Chief Frank Carter, Traffic Sergeant Case Solsbery, PIO Tracy Gonzalez and Program Partners will be attending the event.

A press release from SAPD said that the Buckle Down & Stay Strapped In will be held in front of the Police Memorial Statue.

The press release noted, “Buckle Down & Stay Strapped In is a grassroots effort to increase seat belt use in San Angelo. The SAPD and our partners are committed to increasing seat belt use and saving lives in our community.”

This campaign initiative will focus on conducting monthly seat belt observational surveys. These surveys will be analyzed and results will be shared with the public, uncovering problem areas, and raising awareness about the consequences of not buckling down.
