SAN ANGELO, TX - We all have our favorite movies to watch at Christmas time: Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, Frosty the Snowman, Miracle on 34th Street, etc. However, for those San Angeloans looking for a more interactive view of another beloved holiday favorite, the San Angelo Broadway Academy has something special planned for this weekend, and as stated, LIVE! still has three more pairs of tickets to give away for the event (click here).
Angela Brooks, executive director of SABA, said, "Starting this Friday, December 9, through Sunday, December 11, all are invited to come celebrate the Christmas season with your family and enjoy the sugar-sprinkled, holiday musical Elf! This is the first time we've ever done this show; last year we did White Christmas. We've got 85 kids who are in the show so we're pretty excited."
Produced by SABA, with special arrangements with Music Theatre International, "Buddy" the elf brings his Christmas cheer in a hilarious way to the Foster Communications Coliseum this weekend.
Featuring happy elves, tap dancing Macy’s employees, and the big guy himself, Elf is a musical comedy for all ages.
For those unfamiliar, the script is based on the beloved holiday film, where a young orphan named Buddy mistakenly crawls into Santa's bag of gifts and is transported to the North Pole. The would-be elf is raised, unaware that he is actually a human, until his enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth.
Buddy then embarks on a journey to New York City determined to win over his new family and help New York remember the true meaning of Christmas.

Brooks added, "Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for children (12 and under) and military, and can be purchased in advance online at sabroadwayacademy.org, or at the door one hour prior to each performance. Performance times are Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m., and then Saturday and Sunday matinees are at 2 p.m., and all seating is general admission."
The San Angelo Broadway Academy Youth Theatre is a non-profit educational performing arts facility that cultivates the minds of students with positive social and self awareness, stimulates imaginations, and gives them the tools they need to reach for their goals and dreams. The academy provides a professional and high level of education to children and youth in theatre arts, dance, and vocal performance by trained professionals in a positive environment.
