SAN ANGELO, TX – Over the holiday weekend, local law enforcement arrested and booked 45 people into the Tom Green County Jail. These arrests included one San Angelo man whom game wardens with the Texas Parks & Wildlife found hunting under someone else’s license, had an untagged turkey in his truck, and was a felon in possession of a firearm. Additionally, another San Angelo man assaulted a family member with a weapon and attempted to evade police and resist arrest.
Lt. Jason Huebner, with the TPW Game Wardens Law Enforcement in San Angelo, said on the afternoon of Nov. 25, game wardens were in Area 5 of the Twin Butte’s Reservoir off Highway 67, on the right-hand side, checking for compliance, and noticed an untagged turkey in the back of a pickup truck.
“So they waited for the violator to come back, and they made contact with him,” said Lt. Huebner.
After running a check on the individual, officials identified the man as 27-year-old Justin Lee Linthicum. The man was arrested for hunting with another person’s license, possession of an illegally killed turkey, unlawful possession of a firearm, and an outstanding warrant for failure to appear.
Linthicum was booked into the TGCJ at 3:09 p.m. This is his eighth arrest in TGC. His bonds totaled $11,089, which was posted on Nov. 26.
In the second case, 41-year-old Antonio Cabrera was arrested for aggravated assault of a family member with a weapon and for attempting to evade and resist arrest.
San Angelo Police Officer Tracy Gonzalez said, at around 10:50 p.m. on Nov. 25, Cabrera displayed a knife during an assault at a residence in the 1100 block of Linda Lee Drive.
“Cabrera attempted to evade officers and resisted arrest,” said Gonzalez. “Cabrera was subsequently charged with Evading Arrest Detention and Resist Arrest Search or Transport.”
This is Cabrera’s second arrest in TGC. His bonds total $41,000.
