Forgery and Drugs Top Thanksgiving Holiday Crimes

 

SAN ANGELO, TX - Since our last update on Wednesday, local law enforcement arrested and booked 20 people into the Tom Green County Jail. Included in those arrests was Roberto Zapata Herrera, 33, who San Angelo Police took into custody Wednesday afternoon (see that story here) for "suspicious activity with a check at Wells Fargo Bank downtown." The woman who was with him fled police.

Herrera was booked into the Tom Green County Jail at 2:07 p.m. for forgery of a financial instrument. This is his 4th arrest in TGC.

Additionally, for the past 48 hours, drugs topped the list of crimes. Five people went to jail for possession of a controlled substance, two for possession of dangerous drugs, one for possession of drug paraphernalia, and two for possession of marijuana.

Overall, out of the 20 arrests, five people were booked on new complaints and warrants, nine on outstanding warrants, and six on new complaints.

  • Fail to Identify Fugitive From Justice: 2
  • Criminal Trespass: 3
  • DWI: 2
  • Public Intoxication: 1
