San Angelo Man Arrested for Reporting False Information to Police

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – Since our last update yesterday, 12 people went to the Tom Green County Jail on a variety of offenses, including Tony Lee Lopez.

San Angelo Police Public Information Officer Tracy Gonzalez said the 31-year-old man was arrested for reporting false information to police officers.

At around 11:17 p.m. last night, Lopez falsely reported his vehicle stolen from him at gunpoint. Because of this false reporting, Lopez went to jail.

This is Lopez’s second arrest in TGC. He was previously arrested in 2014 for theft.

Including Lopez, three people were arrested on new complaints; however, local law enforcement initiated more warrants arrests. There were nine people booked into the TGCJ.

Here are the crimes to make the new complaint list:

  • Burglary of Habitat: 1
  • Assault Causes Bodily Injury Family Violence: 1
  • Fail to Identify Giving False/Fictitious Info: 1
