22-Year-Old Wanted on Warrants Attempts to Flee Law Enforcement

SAN ANGELO, TX - Previously, we wrote how 48 people made their way to the Tom Green County Jail (see here). Another arrestee included in that number is deserving of his own attention because he attempted to flee Tom Green County Sheriff's Office deputies and officials with the San Angelo City Marshal's Office.

TGCSO officials said, on Nov. 16 at approximately 12:15 p.m., TGCSO deputies and San Angelo City Marshal's Office officials attempted to apprehend 22-year-old Raymond Flores-Ponce for three active warrants out of Sterling County.

"While conducting surveillance, Flores-Ponce, a wanted felon, was observed working at a business in the 700 Block of E. 19th Street," said TGCSO. "When deputies approached Flores-Ponce, he immediately evaded and a foot chase ensued."

Officials said the foot chase took deputies into back allies and private properties "as Flores-Ponce jumped fences from one property on to another." Additional units arrived on location to assist in locating Flores-Ponce. Officials eventually located him, and the man resisted arrest. A deputy on scene deployed a taser in order to take Flores-Ponce into custody.

Flores-Ponce was arrested for Evading Arrest Detention, Assault Public Servant, Resist Arrest Search or Transport, and Criminal Trespass, and officials transported him to the Tom Green County Jail without incident.

This is Flores-Ponce's 8th arrest in TGC, and his bonds total $40,500.

Run from the police and expect one of three things; Face plant, Taser, or fatigue when you are caught. Running is always a fail.
