Theft and Drug Possession up on Monday

While the Super Bowl may have had a hand in the high number of DWIs and public intoxication arrests on Sunday, it would appear that theft is the crime of choice now that the week has begun.

Nine inmates were booked into Tom Green County Jail with theft charges Monday, while only two were booked for driving while intoxicated.

Drug users were also on the prowl, with seven inmates booked for possession, one of which was greater than four grams.

In total, 28 inmates were booked into Tom Green County Jail, while 18 were released.
