SAN ANGELO, TX - A free diabetes testing event will take place Thursday, Nov. 17, by Any Lab Test Now (ALTN). Beginning at 8 a.m. at the Any Lab Test Now location, 3270 Sherwood Way, there will be direct access to lab testing services, but only until at 5 p.m. the same day.
Jana Braden with ALTN stated that “Any Lab Test Now is a franchise set up to allow people to take control of their health.”
Braden also explained, “The main goal of our business is to provide direct access to lab testing for people. So, people who have no insurance or high deductibles, people who just want to know what is going on with them or have suspicion about diabetes or thyroid problem, [who] can’t get to a doctor, or [must] wait a long time to see a doctor can come in and have whatever they want done. We supply all of the doctors' orders in the background or we can accept your physician's order."
The Hemoglobin A1c Test will determine if a person has diabetes and measure the overall blood glucose levels over a period of time, usually two to three months worth. The A1c test can also help detect and diagnose diabetes.
A press release sent by ALTN stated, “If you’re diabetic, [the A1c test] can help determine if your disease is under control. Maintaining a healthy A1c level and keeping your blood pressure and cholesterol in check are critical to reducing serious health conditions that often go in hand with diabetes.”
In addition to the explanation of the A1c test given in the press release, Braden added that the test “is a direct access lab testing to help people take control of their health.”
Test results come in the next day, and will give people a range. Braden explained the results will tell individuals if they are not a diabetic, pre-diabetic, [or] if they are diabetic.
The press release also added that “[ALTN] revolutionizes the lab testing experience by offering thousands of standard lab tests in a professional and convenient retail setting. ALTN provides confidential lab tests with most results typically available in 24-48 hours.” Also, when coming into the facility, “most customers are in and out in 15 minutes and testing is discreet – the customer is in control of his or her test results.”
