ASU to Host Russian Enrichment Program

SAN ANGELO, TX - A press release from Angelo State University announced that it will be hosting a Russian Enrichment Program.

A presentation by John Griffis, a graduate student in Russian, Eastern European and Eurasian studies at the University of Texas, will be held Thursday, Nov. 10, in the ASU Academic Building, 2502 Dena Drive.

Titled “A World Divided: Analyzing U.S. Foreign Policy Towards Russia and the Rise of a New Cold War,” Griffis’ presentation will begin at 6 p.m. in room 004 of the Academic Building. This is a free event and is open to the public.

The press release stated, “A San Angelo native and U.S. Air Force veteran, Griffis earned his bachelor’s degree in philosophy and Russian studies from James Madison University. While at JMU, he studied abroad for a summer at Moscow State University. After graduating, he spent a year teaching English at the Living Language English School in the Tyumen Region of western Siberia. His primary research areas as a graduate student at UT are Russia, geopolitics and economics.

The presentation given by Griffis is sponsored by the ASU Department of English and Modern Languages and the ASU Russian club.
