Officer Charles Barker said previously officers were dispatched to the 700 block of Velma for the distressed call of a woman who said she needed police.

Prior to arriving, Barker said he knew the resident at the house was a wanted felon.

"I see the male running from the back yard through the front of the house," said Barker. "And that's where we met them in the back yard. He ran from the back of the house to the front; he ran west on Velma, and then north on Poe where I lost him."

At that point, officials set up the perimeter to continue their search for Brown. They found him at a residence in the 1300 block of E. 18th St. After an hour of searching, Brown gave himself up. Barker said he will be arrested for evading police and his felony and city warrants.
