SAN ANGELO, TX – Since our last update, 26 people made their way to the Tom Green County Jail. The majority of those arrests were because of outstanding warrants; and a few of those arrested will have to learn the hard way that drugs and alcohol don’t pay.
In one arrest, Officer Tracy Gonzalez, public information officer for the San Angelo Police Department, said Samantha Leann Garcia, 24, not only had outstanding warrants, but was also issued a citation for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Originally, officers were dispatched to a residence in the 4000 block of Sunset Drive for the report of an unwanted subject. Garcia was that subject.
This is Garcia’s 9th arrest in TGC.
Next on the list is Jose Angel Gomez, 29, who was arrested for DWI BAC >=0.15 just before 1:30 a.m. yesterday after police were dispatched to the 600 block of E. Harris for a major crash.
Gonzalez said a subsequent investigation led to the arrest of Gomez, the driver who collided with a parked, unoccupied car.
“Several neighbors prevented Gomez from leaving the scene,” said Gonzalez.
Additionally, Bryan Matthew Hicks, 27, and Scott Worsham, 40, were also arrested for alcohol-related charges.
Gonzalez said police were dispatched to the 700 block of Veterans Memorial Drive for the report of a crash. Hicks was the passenger in the vehicle and was arrested for Public Intoxication. Worsham, who was operating the vehicle, was arrested for DWI.
In another alcohol-related incident yesterday, 18-year-old Peighton Kade Martinez, at around 12:30 a.m., was arrested for Public Intoxication as well. Officers were dispatched to the 2800 block of Vista del Arroyo for the report of an unconscious person.
“Officers located Martinez lying on the side of the roadway, discovered by a passerby who was concerned for his welfare,” said Gonzalez.
