SAN ANGELO, TX- Both San Angelo and Abilene recorded above average rainfall for the month of September.
San Angelo recorded 5.24 inches for September. This ended up being 2.46 inches above normal for the month.
September's rainfall brings the year-to-date total to 30.76 inches for San Angelo. That's 14.23 inches above normal from where it should be for this time of year.
For Abilene, the city ended the month with 5.59 inches of rain. That is 2.25 inches above the normal average close to 3.35 inches for the month of September.
When added together the total to 2016, Abilene has have now observed 32.70 inches for the year. That is 13.50 inches above normal as of Sept. 30.
Nearing the end of the year, the Climate Prediction Center, showed better probability of drier than normal conditions. This won’t guarantee this outcome; however, it does lower the chance of seeing normal rainfall rates or above average totals for the last three months of the year.
