Taylor County Man Gets Prison Time for Enticing Minor to Have Sex

ABILENE, TX - Today, 65-year-old William David Harden pleaded guilty to enticing a minor to have sex with him in May 2016. As a result, he was sentenced to 135 months (about 11 years) in federal prison.

The previous Tye resident has been in federal custody since his arrest in August 2015.

According to court documents and a local news source in the area, Harden had a cell phone texting relationship with a female minor younger than 17, and he "knowingly persuaded, induced and enticed her to engage in sexual activity with him."

A previous press release on the case noted that Harden suggested to the minor that by having sex with him, she would be repaying him for arranging to get a motel room where she could meet up with a friend.

Additionally, Harden was ordered to forfeit his 2008 pickup truck that he used to transport this minor female and another minor to that motel, said a previous news release.
