Brown County Teen Charged with Killing Parents Planned for 2 Weeks

BROWNWOOD, TX - A Brownwood teenager charged with the capital murder of his father and stepmother planned on killing them for two weeks.

According to court records and a news source in the area, 17-year-old Cody Michael Flores told officials he was mad at his father, 43-year-old Abuith Andrian Flores, for not letting him move in with his grandmother.

Officials said after his dad and 53-year-old stepmother, Ophelia V. Luciobuith Andrian, fell asleep, Cody shot them both with a .22 caliber rifle at around 2:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 17.

Cody then called 911 and reported a home invasion at the family's mobile home on County Road 551. He told officials he was held captive in his room while his parents were shot.

However, the story did not pan out during questioning, officials said.

Cody eventually told officials he waited until Saturday to carry out the murders because it was the first time he thought of using a gun instead of a knife.

At this time, Cody Flores is in Brown County Jail, and his bond is set at $500,000.
