SAN ANGELO, TX - On Sept. 11, 2016, 20-year-old Justin Lane Slatton, Jr., affiliated with the Latin Kings gang, was taken into custody just before 4:30 a.m. on San Angelo, Texas. Slatton was added to the Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitive list on June 15, 2016.
Officer Tracy Gonzalez, public information officer for SAPD, said Slatton was captured by San Angelo Police as he was attempting to leave a residence in the 300 block of W. Avenue D through the back alley. Slatton initially provided Officers with a false identity and was found to be in possession of marijuana.
"Slatton is a suspect in a double shooting that occurred on April 13, 2016, at a residence in Temple, Texas, which resulted in the deaths of two men," said Gonzalez.
On May 6, 2016, the Bell County Sheriff's Office issued two warrants for Slatton’s arrest for Murder. On May 10, 2016, the Tom Green County Sheriff's Office issued a warrant for his arrest for Burglary of a Building.
Following the capture, Slatton was transported to the Tom Green County Jail without incident, said Gonzalez. In addition to his outstanding Murder and Burglary Warrants, Slatton was charged with Fail to Identify Giving False/Fictitious Information and Class B Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana.
