SAN ANGELO, TX – Shortly after 4 p.m. today, San Angelo Police conducted a traffic stop on Bryant that resulted in arrests.
SAPD Sgt. Wike, with the Lake Patrol Division, said the vehicle, a Dodge Durango, was stopped for a traffic violation. The license plate didn’t match the vehicle so the stop was initiated.
Wike said the car traveled around the Stripes store near Denny’s on Bryant and stopped.
“While interviewing the driver, the driver took off running; there were three other occupants in the vehicle,” said Sgt. Wike.
He added that the driver was caught nearby, and narcotics were found in the vehicle.
One person was arrested for narcotics, and another for outstanding warrants. The narcotics found field tested positive for heroin.
“The driver ran because she had warrants,” said Wike.
Wike added that the investigation is ongoing. Officials are still trying to positively identify one of the occupants who was a passenger in the vehicle.
As for the SUV, Sgt. Wike said, “We haven’t been able to locate the owner of the vehicle.”
