SAN ANGELO, TX – El Patio Inn, a statement building at 1901 W Beauregard in San Angelo, TX for many years, is getting a makeover. The newly renovated exterior and interior are just some of the changes its new owners have made in order to change the atmosphere of the inn.
Previously notorious for fostering a negative atmosphere and housing guests with questionable character, the inn is moving in a new direction. The renovations have occurred in all areas of the establishment.
The newly painted exterior provides a fresh and revitalized look that invites guests from all around to check out El Patio. Additionally, the courtyard provides a great place to interact with other guests and a space to relax while grilling or eating at the picnic tables.
The rooms have also received major upgrades. Currently, about half of the rooms are completely redone. The new rooms are now fully tiled; all the old carpet has been removed. Guests have the opportunity to rest on queen beds, which are standard in both single and double rooms. According to Mr. Greg Logwinuk, owner of El Patio, close to $750,000 has been invested in renovations.
Rooms also feature refrigerators and microwaves, as well as complementary Wi-Fi and over 40 cable channels.
The community is very excited to see these renovations continue and hope this will provide a change in the atmosphere the neighborhood is currently experiencing, including an increase in criminal activity.
“Having this [inn] revitalized is definitely going to decrease the crime,” said Caron Ducote, President of the Greater Santa Rita Homeowners Association. The motell sits adjacent to San Angelo's oldest and desirable neighborhood.
San Angelo natives are also happy to see the inn slowly transform into the welcoming establishment it once was.
“Growing up, I remember what it used to be,” said City Councilman Lane Carter. “I want to thank Greg and his wife for doing such a tremendous job in revitalizing this inn.”

The owners, Greg and Valerie Logwinuk, welcome the people of San Angelo and those traveling in the area to check out the newly renovated rooms and see the new and improved El Patio Inn. They are working to provide a new experience at an affordable price.
“Our goal is to really be the best value in daily and extended stay lodging in San Angelo,” Logwinuk said.

After many years of getting worse and more & more in a constant state of degradation, it is great to see El Patio being rejuvenated! I live in the neighborhood and everyone is so glad to see the change! El Patio seems to be returning to its youth. I spent my honeymoon there 47 years ago! My Lions club met in the dining facilities. It would be good to see the cafe return!
It was a good motel choice. I hope to see El Patio become once again what it was! A welcome part of the neighborhood...

PermalinkDid they mean to say $75, 000? If they really spent close to $750, 000 then I truly wish them well because that's a LOT of money to drop on what was a seedy motel. I truly hope the new motel thrives because one less meth den in San Angelo is always a good thing.

PermalinkWe live in a lovely home near this motel. There is no amount of money thrown into this motel property that could change the type of people that frequent it. The foot traffic that passes our home (coming from this property) has become alarming in nature. I won't allow my children to even take the trash out unaccompanied. We have also experienced theft and vandalism. If they want to clean up the motel, they should show some discretion in who they choose to do business with.
