Sex Offenders Investigated in Brown County Murder Case

ABILENE, Texas - According to newly released records, the Brown County Sheriff’s Office investigated registered sex offenders who live near where 25-year-old Chantay Blankinship was murdered.

Currently, no arrests have been made in the case, and officials are offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.

According to KTXS, Blankinship’s body was found on May 15, about five miles from the Lake Brownwood home she shared with her grandfather.

KTXS in Abilene filed an Open Records Request for this information, and the news source noted that Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton ruled the Brown County Sheriff’s Office had to release specific records.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation, along with Texas Rangers, has assisted deputies in finding Blankinship’s killer., said the news source.
