Truck Crashes into Honda and Driver Tries to Flee on Foot

 

A Nixle alert was sent out at 1:52 p.m. telling people to avoid the 4200 block of Sherwood Way close to Rosas Cafe due to a motor vehicle accident.

Roadways down Sherwood are backed up because of lane closures. The westbound lane is blocked, so SAPD is directing traffic.

UPDATE 2:30 

Officer Quade, from the San Angelo Police Department, said, "The tan Honda appeared to be westbound on Sherwood Way, and the brown Ford truck was heading eastbound on Sherwood Way. The truck turned left and hit the front left corner of the Honda." 

Sherwood Accident

Both passengers in the four-door Honda went to the hospital. Their injuries are unknown at this time. 

However, the driver of the truck took off running from the scene and was caught about 200 or 300 feet down the street by people who saw the crash happen. Sterling County Sheriff's Office had the man in custody when SAPD arrived on the scene. 

Sherwood Accident

He will be transported to county jail for an accident involving bodily injury, which is a third degree felony, and for leaving the scene of an accident, also a third degree felony. 

The crash is still under investigation.
