According to a press release from SAPD, 32-year-old Joshua J. Felix was taken into custody by San Angelo Police yesterday after he was caught shoplifting over $250 in property from the Walmart Supercenter on W. 29th.
Officers responded to the call around 5:00 p.m. and learned Felix attempted to push a basket containing miscellaneous items, to include a Reese’s Fast Break candy bar, food, personal hygiene products, and a book past registers and out the door without paying.
Felix was somewhat uncooperative with officers at the scene, but was ultimately taken into custody without incident. During a search incident to arrest, officers located marijuana and suspected narcotics, which field-tested positive for approximately 2.8 grams of methamphetamine.
Felix was issued a Criminal Trespass Warning from the property and charged with Class B Misdemeanor Theft of Property, Class B Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana, Felony 3 Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1, and outstanding arrest warrants.
Felix did not catch a fast break here; instead, Felix was transported to the Tom Green County Jail.
