Over the weekend, 42 people made their way to the Tom Green County Jail. Included in those arrests are Alexandra Rene Rivas, 39, and Brenton Michael Collier, 26. Rivas was arrested for stealing a vehicle, and Collier attempted to flee police.
Officer Tracy Gonzalez, public information officer for the San Angelo Police Department, said at around 9:30 p.m., Lake Patrol located a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado parked at Mary E. Lee Beach. The officer ran the plate and determined the vehicle had been reported stolen on July 19 from the 300 block of E. 32nd.
The officer made contact with two subjects who were by the vehicle.
“After a thorough investigation and CID response, 39-year-old Alexandra Rene Rivas was charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle,” Gonzalez explained. “A 54-year-old male was released from the scene.”
Gonzalez said the vehicle was later released to the owner.
