The San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts announced it will celebrate STEAM, an educational approach that utilizes Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics to promote critical thinking.
The event is for the entire family and will provide several opportunities to learn about different areas of science. The event will be held at SAMFA on August 13from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Here is the schedule:
- 11:00 a.m. – ASU Civil Engineering Challenge
- 1:00 p.m. – Drone Engineering Challenge by TAME & 4H
- STEM Demonstrations by Goodfellow Air force Base
- Robotics by Tom Green County Library
- Hands-on STEAM Exhibit in the Trailblazer Bus
- Hands-on Activities by Tom Green County 4H
The Trailblazer Bus will also be present at the event. The Trailblazers Bus is provided by the San Angelo Chapter of TAME (Texas Alliance for Minorities in Engineering). The interactive bus teaches kids about energy, space, weather, biotechnology, and aerodynamics. The event will also provides educational and career opportunities in STEAM areas.
Other organizations present will be the Tom Green County 4H and Boeing; they will partner with SAMFA to bring art to the children of San Angelo.
