Update 7:17 a.m.
This morning, a call came in through Dispatch for a garage fire threatening a structure at 1808 Lafallette.
"By the time the guys got here, [the fire] had already moved into the house and the garage was pretty much gone," said Joanna Jackson, fire investigator. "I do have a possible report of one injury, but I haven't confirmed that yet."
Firefighters are still battling the blaze because asphalt shingles "keep popping up," said Jackson.
"They're trying to fight that off right now," she said.
Currently, there are no firefighter injuries, and the investigation is just beginning. Jackson said, however, she was pretty certain the fire started in the garage.
The fire was a two-alarm, which means there were about three different fire engines on scene at one time, but now there is a shift change occurring, so they're trying to get things situated.
"That's where we're at at the moment," said Jackson.
