A mother and her four kids went to Community Medical Center this evening after their Chevy TrailBlazer collided with a Chevy Silverado towing a trailer with a boat on it.
San Angelo Police Officer Herrington said units were dispatched to a major crash on Sherwood Way and Childress at 9:37 p.m. Upon arrival, they learned the driver of the Trailblazer had struck the Silverado. Based on the results of the investigation, the driver failed to control her speed, which caused the collision.
The Chevy Silverado had two adult occupants, and neither were injured. However, the mother and her four children in the Chevy Trailblazer were transported to the hospital.
“All occupants were secured in appropriate safety harness, or seatbelts,” said Officer Herrington. “The approximate ages of the children are 12, 1, 10 and 8. All occupants in the Chevy Trailblazer did sustain minor non-life-threatening injuries, and were transported to Community Hospital for further evaluation.”
Officer Herrington said the mother will be cited for failure to control speed and any other “infractions” identified at the scene.
