“According to the way he (the homeowner) described it, it was smoking, and once he opened the door, [the family] started smelling it and noticed flames. That’s when they got out and called us,” said Jackson.

At about 2:20 p.m., Jackson said she was dispatched to the fire. She said luckily the family wasn’t home when the fire started, so there were no injuries.

Additionally, the fire was primarily confined to the attic, but there was a lot of water damage throughout the home. She added that the home will have to be repaired and electricity had to be disconnected.
