On June 3, an estimated street value of $393,720 in cocaine was seized at the Eagle Pass Port of Entry, said a press release from U.S. Customs and Border Protection Wednesday.
According to the release, at about 5:34 a.m., the officers of the Camino Real International Bridge inspected a 2004 Chevy Silverado entering the country. Aided by a K-9, officers were able to locate 20 packages of cocaine, which weighed a total of 51.06 pounds. The packages were found underneath the center console of the vehicle.
“This seizure demonstrates the dedication our frontline officers have to CBP’s border security mission," said John Brandt, Director of the Eagle Pass Port of Entry.
The release noted that a 37-year-old man from Eagle Pass was turned over to Homeland Security for further investigation. The man was a U.S. citizen.
