Texas Governor Gregg Abbott has appointed John Best of San Angelo as District Attorney for the 119th Judicial District in Runnels, Concho and Tom Green Counties, effective June 1, 2016, for a term length to expire at the next general election in November 2016.
John Best is the first Assistant District Attorney for the 51st Judicial District in Tom Green County District. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas and president of the Tom Green County Bar Association. He is an ex-officio board member of the Children’s Advocacy Center of San Angelo, board member of the Promises for Families Foundation and a member of the Concho Valley Child Fatality Review Team and the Concho Valley Law Enforcement Lion’s Club.
Best received a bachelor’s of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin and a Juris Doctor from St. Mary’s School of Law.
